For the past few years we have been surveying over 5,000 brides to get their opinions and feedback on a wide variety of aspects of the wedding industry. This year we have put some of the data together in an easy-to-read infographic. This year’s wedding trends according to its brides
Stand out stats:
- The most common average age range for a couple on their wedding day is 27-30
- The most common average length of relationship is 1 1/2 – 2 years
- The most common average length of engagement is 13-18 months
- The most popular season to get married in is Summer
- 31% of wedding dresses cost up to £1,000; 28% of wedding dresses cost up to £500
- 7 out of 2,094 brides surveyed were planning on wearing a borrowed dress whilst 9 brides-to-be said they would be wearing their mother or grandmother’s dress
- 36% of weddings cost between £5,000 and £10,000; 35% of weddings cost between £10,000 and £20,000. (Excluding cost of honeymoon)
- The most popular wedding colour schemes were: Purple, royal blue, navy blue, red and rose pink
- 40% of ceremonies took place in a church/place of worship
- 79% of brides said they would be dieting for the big day; 49% of grooms said the same
- Mainland Europe was the most popular honeymoon destination, followed by the Caribbean, USA/Canada, United Kingdom and the Indian Ocean
