As first meetings go, Sarah and Simon couldn’t have thought more of each other in that Bristol bar – they were utterly smitten! It’s no wonder such great first impressions led them to a romantic (if somewhat scary for Simon – it must have been the nerves) proposal under a tree during an evening walk in the Welsh countryside. Eight months later they had a stunning wedding in Somerset, with the ceremony held at a light and airy Victorian orangery, and commemorated in dreamy pictures by Mark at Evolve Photography.
Bride & Groom: Sarah, web designer, and Simon, Army Captain in the infantry
Length of engagement: 8 months
Wedding date: 26th January 2013
Wedding ceremony & reception: St Audries Park, Somerset
Wedding photographer: Evolve Photography
Wedding theme/colours: The colours were ivory and antique gold with accents of claret. There was a ‘loose’ vintage theme, with our honeymoon destinations as the theme our table plan was based on.
Wedding dress by: Impressions, a Cardiff boutique. Dark ivory satin, floor length gown with a small train. The bottom of the dress was simple, the bodice was heavily embellished with beadwork and embroidery. It was buttoned at the back, with a sweetheart neckline at the front, a tulle layered over the top in a halter neck style.
First dance song: Something’s Got To Give by Sammy Davis Jr
