Romantic roses, vintage lace, soft candlelight, and… a touch of orange as a nod to the bride’s Scottish heritage! Lucy and Stevie created a beautiful and meaningful day for family and friends at the gorgeous Thornton Manor in Cheshire. Simple yet stunning cream roses and candles provided elegant and fragrant décor for a perfectly dreamy real wedding day.

Wedding theme/colours: The main theme was vintage lace, but as my Dad’s side of the family are Scottish I wanted to have a hint of Scotland in there. Both my Dad and my brother wore our family tartan of which I took inspiration for my bridesmaid’s dresses which were the same shade of orange. I also had thistles in all of our bouquets.

Your favourite wedding story: Sadly as there were going to be Grandparents absent from our big day, I wanted to make sure they were there in some form or another and not just in our thoughts. So, I made a memory tree of photographs from all of our Grandparents wedding days as well as our parents. I had them copied so they were all vintage sepia and backed them onto black paper with a thin orange ribbon threaded through to attach them to the tree. To finish them off, I wrote the specific wedding date on the back of each one. It was a great talking point on the day and had lot of meaning to all the family. It took quite a lot of time and effort create, but seeing their faces and hearing them re-live their big day was priceless!
