No one is happier to see the sun glinting in the sky than a bride on her wedding day, and with the warmer weather fast approaching (we hope!) Confetti’s favourite Good Spa Bride has been busy making sure her skin is looking its very best in the lead up to the big day!
Whether your spring wedding is imminent, you’ll be wed in summer, or you are planning an autumnal extravaganza, it’s imperative that you start as you mean to go on. Your skin needs extra loving care when the sun begins to shine, so The Good Spa Guide has put together some top tips to ensure your skin is as radiant as the sun, but less flaming and red!
Ready…
Out with the old and in with the new! Spring cleaning is a tradition the world over, and the same should go for your skin. Over the winter months your skin is protected from the elements and, more often than not, somewhat forgotten about. Pale, sensitive skin needs tender loving care, so you need to approach this renewal with delicacy.
Start with a gentle all-over body scrub to exfoliate dead, dull skin cells and reveal new, baby-soft skin. You can do this yourself at home, or opt for a luxurious body polish at your favourite spa or treatment rooms. A spa therapist will be able to scrub that impossible-to-reach part of your back!
If you’re spa-ing at home, why not replace your heavier winter moisturiser with a lighter option with a hint of gradual tan? All this exfoliation will leave your skin silky-smooth and ready to tan safely without a streak in sight. If you’re heading spa-ward, then a spray tan after your exfoliation will leave you instantaneously glowing and will last a while too!
Top tip: Be gentle – you don’t need to get out the sandpaper to remove dead skin cells – they’ll come away easily if you gently rub an exfoliant into your skin. Take extra notice of your elbows and knees, where the skin can be drier and tougher.
