My h2b has decided not to have his dads partner on the top table…

Hi, me and my h2b are getting married next year. We’re only having a small wedding of about 55 people. The problem is the top table. My h2b’s parents are divorced whereas mine are still happily married. My h2b’s mum remarried about 15 years ago and his step dad had a huge part in raising him. However his dad has been going out with a woman for about 8 years and we only ever see them twice a year if that! My h2b has decided not to have his dads partner on the top table as we would feel uncomfortable sharing the day with a woman we hardly know. What’s the best way to tell my h2bs dad this? Thank you
