Made In Chelsea’s Louise Thompson is engaged! We wonder if boyfriend Ryan Libby used one of these beautiful alternative ring boxes?
OK! Magazine has revealed that Made in Chelsea star Louise Thompson is engaged to boyfriend Ryan Libbey. He popped the question while on a hike during a romantic trip to Los Angeles, which also fell on his birthday.
Ryan convinced Louise to go on a hike so she “threw on one of his big T-shirts and some cycling shorts” and they raced each other to the top of the hill.
“He found one of these private paths off the track,” Louise said. “There was dust flying everywhere. Then he said: ‘Shall we take a rest?’’
Ryan described the moment that he popped the big question:
“I said something like, ‘I’ve had the best birthday ever, but there’s one more birthday wish that I’d like. Will you marry me?’’’
He said he had been planning the proposal for over four months, keeping the ring hidden in a bag.
“I’ve been on a secret mission for so long, with this ring hidden in my backpack for weeks. Every time we were going through airport security I weed myself.”
He also revealed that he helped to design her engagement ring “from absolute scratch”, opting for “a white gold ring with a cushion-cut diamond” and the message “Always Yours” engraved on the inside of the band.
“It’s beautiful,” Louise said. “It’s my perfect ring and I have no idea how Ryan knew.”
The couple have been together since 2016, having met when Louise employed Ryan as her personal trainer.
“I’m still shell-shocked,” Louise said about the proposal. “I’ve been crying solidly for three days. It’s the most exciting thing that’s ever happened to me in my entire life.
“Ryan and I have known that we want to spend the rest of our lives together for quite a long time. I love him more and more every day, which sounds so clichéd, but it’s the truth.”
