JK Rowling has surprised a couple of newlyweds in Edinburgh by showing up at their Scottish wedding venue!
JK Rowling made Nick and John’s wedding day even more magical when she made a surprise appearance at their wedding venue—the beautiful Prestonfield House in Edinburgh where they were enjoying a stunning intimate wedding. As they went outside for a photo shoot, the newlyweds and their photographer (Matt Fothergill of Matt.E.Photography) spotted the renowned author who was attending another event nearby.
Matt worked up the courage to ask Rowling for a photo and told the Huffington post that, “She said yes, of course, and then when she saw the guys she was so cool. She just strode right up to them with the biggest smile and gave them both a big squeeze and wished them every health and happiness.”
“I’d (love to say) we were super cool about the whole thing, but I’m pretty sure she heard us squealing with delight,” Matt said. “She was so, so cool (and) really sweet and it’s something myself and my clients are going to treasure for our whole lives.”
He continued, “We’re all serious Potterheads and have a huge respect for JK Rowling’s charity and activism, so this was a truly epic, meet-your-hero moment.”
