Even the royals aren’t exempt from the current wedding guidelines! Princess Beatrice just married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in front of the Queen and just 20 guests.
The secret wedding took place at All Saints Chapel in Windsor Great Park this morning (17th July).
The pair were due to get married in front of 150 guests at the Chapel Royal in St James’s Palace in London in May. 150 guests were due to attend, however they were – like many other couples – forced to cancel their wedding due to Coronavirus.
Social distancing measures were in place as Princess Beatrice, 31, married property developer Edoardo. The Queen arrived with Prince Philip from Windsor Castle, where they have been isolating since the COVID-19 outbreak.
Beatrice’s father, Prince Andrew, was also in attendance. The Queen left the ceremony just before midday in order to be at Windsor Castle to present Captain Tom Moore, the 100 year old NHS fundraising hero, with his knighthood.
It is said that Beatrice was disappointed to not have her original wedding, but planned a smaller one so the Queen was able to attend before heading off to Balmoral for the summer.
The princess has been engaged to Edoardo, who is the founder and CEO of a property development and interior design company, since September 2019 when he proposed with a platinum and diamond engagement ring that was handcrafted by British jewellery designer Shaune Leane.
She has not only become a wife today, but also a stepmother to her new husband’s three year old son, Wolfie, who he shares with his ex-fiancee.
