Bespoke jewellery brand Taylor & Hart has made childhood dreams everywhere come true with this diamond-encrusted take on the classic Haribo ring.
Why not give your proposal an extra sweet twist with this tasty-looking gem – it includes 224 rubies in the band, and an 18ct yellow gold basket of 40 diamonds, crowned with a 2.70 carat cabochon yellow sapphire. It costs £25,000…or, to put it in Haribo terms, the equivalent of buying 1.2millon Haribo rings…
“With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we thought it was the perfect time to bring this brand new design to life,” explains Kate Earlam-Charnley, Design Director at Taylor & Hart, “Combining custom cut rubies and a syrupy cabochon yellow sapphire, this ring is one of the most ambitious we’ve ever created and definitely one of the most original.”
The focus was on recreating that *sweet* feeling you get when you fall in love for the first time – as proposing to the one should feel just as thrilling as falling in love for the first time.
Everyone knows the red and yellow Haribo ring is the most delicious one, which is why this sparkly grown-up version is modelled on the day-glo colours of the classic.
Haribo Starmix, home to the gummy ring, was named as the top sweet treat in the UK in 2019, making it an obvious choice to recreate to bring some playfulness into proposing.
Kate adds: “Made for the daydreamers, the hopeless romantics, those in search of something a little more pure and innocent, this ring is the perfect expression of love. It’ll certainly make a great story while also saying ‘love is forever’. We can’t wait to hear ‘Yes’ stories from our customers across the world!”
