Yesterday saw the event of our summer ‐ our engagement party ‐ it was great. Festivities started at 1pm with the final guests leaving 12 hours later ‐ needless to say we all feel fairly tender today.
The party was held at Mum and Paul’s in the garden we had about 70 people there, a mixture of friends and family, which worked out perfectly. The weather wasn’t great ‐ we had abit of rain between 1‐2pm and it wasn’t warm, but when the band came on everyone warmed up by having a good old boogie. The band was superb ‐ we’ll definitely have them at the wedding, they played all rhythm and blues tunes that went down really well.
Its now 364 days until our wedding and I’m getting even more excited, yesterday was just a taster, but we were bowled over by everybody’s support and enthusiasm for our wedding. I’m suffering somewhat from the Sunday night blues as I write this.
Tomorrow I start a new job, but as I haven’t worked for four weeks since I finished my last one I think it’ll be a shock to the system. The last few weeks have been great RT and I have spent so much time together, some days he would work from home, but at the very least I’d be here when he got in. He had to go to the US for a week on business so I was able to go with him which was fun ‐ he has to go to Canada tomorrow until Wednesday and although he travels a lot with work, this time I’m going to miss him more than most… Oh well only one thing for it, we’ll have to pop open a bottle of champagne we’ve chilling in the fridge and drink it out of our lovely new champagne flutes (both engagement gifts!)
