It was my birthday last year and my boyfriend rang me at work – he had finished work early (he worked in Bristol) and wanted to come and meet me from work (in London) and we could go out for a pizza. I met him at Green Park tube station and got into the car.
He then drove around the corner, stopped the car and started getting our bags out of the boot!! It turned out he had booked us a romantic four-poster suite in the Green Park Hotel. Next, I was told to get ready as there was a taxi coming to take us out at 7.30. I duly dressed, and went downstairs to find we were being met by a vintage Daimler, complete with chauffeur. Off we went to dinner and a few minutes later rolled up outside ‘Titanic’ restaurant!! We had a fantastic meal and then Crispy suggested that we take the car for a bit of a drive around the sights of London by night. We ended up at Westminster Bridge and decided to walk across as it was a very balmy evening. As we were nearing the end of the bridge, Crispy handed me a small wrapped box and said, "I forgot to give you this this morning." It was a beautiful sapphire and diamond engagement ring!!!
Then he dropped to one knee and asked if I would do him the honour of becoming his wife. Obviously, I said yes and we are getting married next May.
