It was all quite funny really! I never expected to be where I am now. When I first met him I was happy being single and just wanted a little fling. I met Lee and he was your typical bloke, no commitment and just out for a good time. Perfect! We went out a few times and got on well, he’d always say to me he never believed in marriage, but whenever we were out, he’d say how he was going to spend the rest of his life with me. I’d always remind him the next day, but he’d deny it.
Then one day we were out and for the first time he told me he loved me, I was in shock to be honest but very happy, because it was the first time he’d told me while he was completely sober. He was very ‘lovey dovey’ all day, well more than usual. I was loving every minute of it, to be honest, but wasn’t expecting the next bit. We sat away from his friends, just chatting and then he got onto the subject of marriage. He asked me if I would ever marry him and I just said, "Well, you haven’t asked me, so I don’t know what I’d say," knowing inside I would. Then he just asked me. Well, I burst out laughing (nervous laugh I think) and he had a serious face on him. I told him I didn’t believe him because he’d mentioned it so many times before but nothing came of it. I told him to get down on one knee if he meant it and he did. I went bright red I didn’t know what to do, apart from say yes right away. I was so happy for the rest of the night and the whole world knew in minutes. A few didn’t believe us but we soon proved them wrong.
We got the ring a few weeks later and we were in a hotel, I went out of the room for something and then came back in, he was on one knee with the ring and his exact words were, "Alright sexy bitch, be my wife’" how romantic but completely him!
