Ruth and Andy Real Engagement Story

I met Andy almost 2 years ago when I started hosting the karaoke in a pub. He was the captain of the pool team. He came in the pub every Thursday night, but I was always working.
The landlady introduced us and I thought he was very cute but thought he had a girlfriend. Andy also thought I was seeing the guy who also hosted the karaoke but we work together and are the best of friends.
I did have strong feelings for my friend though, so when he told me he was gay and seeing another guy at the pub, I was devastated. Weeks of me being depressed had passed by when out of the blue my friend Kris told me that Andy liked me – although Andy hadn’t said anything to him!
So, this got me thinking and reading all the signs, I agreed. Unfortunately, neither of us were very good at coming forward so another friend Maggie arranged for a Blackpool trip for Andy, Maggie, her daughter and me. Andy and myself were left alone while Maggie (Cupid) and her daughter went off. As we were leaving, Andy bought some rock and offered me a piece, then kissed me as I took it.
Back at the car I asked him out, he said “yes”. We’ve been together for almost 8 months now and have been engaged for almost 2 months.
Andy proposed in bed on Christmas morning (2 o’clock). Of course, there was no hesitation at all. We get married July 26th 2002.
