The date was Sunday June 9th 2002 and, as per the normal Sunday routine, Andrew had gone out on an advanced driving lesson leaving me to my own devices.
Andrew is only too aware that when left alone and bored I would often flip through the TV guide and flick through the TV channels. But this time, as I looked at the TV guide, I noticed little messages at the bottom of each page, culminating with his proposal of marriage on the very last page!
Of course he was still out and I didn’t want to tell anyone until I had given my answer! I had to wait a full hour and a half before he returned! As if fated, just before he arrived home, a wedding programme came on…that was the final straw – off went the water works.
Luckily Andrew arrived home soon afterwards and I rushed to give my answer “Of course I’ll marry you, I love you more than anything”.
We get married on 26th June 2004 since we wanted plenty of time to get things arranged. And it’s now less than a month away! I am so nervous, but have never been so sure of making the right decision. Just to make sure – he proposed again, this time on one knee at top of Empire state building. We are getting married at St Johns in Old Coulsdon, and the reception is at Ravenswood in Sharpthorne. We’re having a stretch mini limo take us to the church and then onto the reception!
We are both so looking forward to the big day and can’t wait to tell you more when it’s all over.
