When was your wedding?

28th September 2007

How and when did you meet?

Steve’s cousin Paula introduced us on a night out to Stoneleigh to listen to classical music and watch a firework display.

 

How old are you both?

I am 37 and Steve is 39

Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?

He proposed on the anniversary of our first date three years ago, 26th September 2004.

Did you have hen and stag celebrations? If so, what did you do?

Hen night was brilliant, the girlies organised a limo to pick us up from the house, then we got dropped into town “Coventry” for a meal and drinks at Chicago Rocks, at the Sky Dome complex. Stag night, Steve and a group of his mates went out for lots of drinks around Earlsdon “Coventry”.

How did your groom help with the wedding planning?

He basically did as he was told and came to suit fittings, venue meetings, when he was told to do so.

Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?

No not to plan, but came up with some good ideas from them.

Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?

Yes bought online, very easy web site to use, brilliant.

Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it

I wore a Maggie Sottero “Dion” diamond white wedding gown which I purchased from ebay and took to a wedding dress lady who corrected it to fix appropriately. It was gorgeous and made me feel very special.

Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?

Two bridesmaids, my neice Leanne aged 9 and my husbands daughter Laura aged 11. They worn sky blue bridesmaids dresses with diamontes and looked stunning.

Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?

Steve had his cousin Paula’s husband Tony and my Son gave me away, so three in total worn wedding suits.

Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?

Civil ceremony which was just perfect.

Where did you hold your ceremony?

The Woodhouse Hotel in the Barn at Princethorpe, Rugby.

Where did you hold your reception?

The Woodhouse Hotel in the Orchard Room at Princethorpe, Rugby.

Did you have any special wedding transport?

Yes a vintage 1967 blue Damiler.

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?

36 to the daytime and 100 to the evening do.

Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?

Blue and white theme to match me and my bridesmaids.

How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?

Yes with balloons and table clothes and disposable cameras.

Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?

White roses with blue flowers mixed in between surrounded by green leaves. They were made by Donna at Belle Balloons & Florist, The Chesils, Cheylesmore, Coventry. CV3 5BH. They were just stunning and I would thoroughly recommend her, see the photos.

What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?

Venue catering, daytime was Bucks Fizz with canopies and evening was a hot buffet, chilli, chicken legs, rice, lasagne, new pototoes, everyone commented on what lovely food it was.

What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?

Large rectangular sponge cake made by Luxury Bakery Ltd, 115 Alfall Road, Coventry, CV2 3GF.

Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?

Hotels own disco DJ.

Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?

We asked for money to decorate our home.

Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?

First night at the Woodhouse Hotel and honeymoon in Aguadulce, Spain visiting my Aunt and Uncle who live there.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

Walking into the barn and seeing Steve’s reaction to my dress and to me.

Did you experience any “nightmare” moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?

Yes my Brother and Sister caused some problems, mainly caused by jealousy as I am the youngest and only one to commit to a marriage.

Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?

To enjoy the day, it goes so quickly so make sure you have fun.
