Dale went to Norwich (?!) for the weekend. My hen night was organised by Dale’s brother and boyfriend. We traveled by limo down to London where we went to Jongleurs Comedy Club.

Dale was involved in every decision except mine and the bridesmaid’s dresses, It was important to both of us that everything was a joint effort.

Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?

All the time! It helped with suppliers, ideas and bits and bobs for the day.

Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?

bought everything on-line.

Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it

My dress was made from French silk. It had a sweetheart neckline, a very tight fitting bodice that went into a full skirt. It was from Questor in Woburn, just outside Milton Keynes.

Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?

I had 4 bridesmaids. My best friends Lucy and Clair and Dale’s two cousins Jade and Amber. They wore latte coloured floor length dresses that had a bodice to match mine.

Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?

Dale had two best men – Dan and Steve and he had 3 ushers – His friends Chris and Ross and his little brother Drew. They wore black suits with ivory and latte coloured waistcoats with cravats.

Religious ceremony – my cousin married us.

Where did you hold your ceremony?

The Roman Camp Country House Hotel, Callander, Scotland.

Where did you hold your reception?

The Roman Camp Country House Hotel, Callander, Scotland.

Did you have any special wedding transport?

We used my dad’s Jaguar as the wedding car. I wanted it because it had a personalised number plate of my maiden name. However, Dale and his bestman Steve had another number plate made and halfway through taking the pictures on the lawn Steve swapped them. The new one said ‘COLES’, it was very funny and looks great in the photos.

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?

We live in England and had the wedding in Scotland so everyone was invited to the whole day. In total we had 65 guests.

Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?

Our theme was a Scottish Autumn so we had lots of creams and tartan!

How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?

We had candlearbres in the middle of the round tables that were wrapped in ivory. We also had a real fire going and lots of candles.

Did you give your guests favours?

yes, everyone received a little personalised jar of jam with small note on to say thank you.

Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?

My florist was a lady called Shona and her company is called Khloris. She is fantastic, the flowers were my favourite bit! We had cream roses (a range of different types), wax berries, ivory, autumnal foliage and thistles.

What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?

Our venue is renowned for it’s food so we used their caterers who served us salmon, chicken and cheesecake.

What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?

My Auntie Glynis was in charge of the wedding cake. I didn’t her give her any ideas as we wanted it to be a surprise. It was three tiers, with sugar flowers (to match the flowers on the day) in between each layer and a thin tartan ribbon tied around the base of each tier.

Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?

During the day we had a piper and in the evening we had a live band who were fantastic.

Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?

No, we have lived together for a while so asked people for B & Q vouchers to help us decorate our house and garden.

Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?

We spent our first night in the Country House we were married in. We had a lovely room with a large open fire. Our honeymoon was in the Riveria Maya on the Carribean coast in Mexico.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

My most memorable moment was just before I was waiting to walk down the aisle. I was so nervous, petrified and excited all at the same time.

Did you experience any “nightmare” moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?

Our day was flawless, everything went to plan – even the weather.

Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?

I would do it exactly the same again. The most important thing to me and Dale was that it suited us and our personalities. My advice would be to do the same. It doesn’t matter what other people want or think, it’s your day and everything should be done to show off what you both like.
