With a beautiful sleeved lace gown, crystal tiara, white carriage – or white taxi in this case; and a handsome prince, this week’s real wedding is a modern day fairy tale. Laura and Kris are our princess and prince in question, and their enchanting day was beautifully shot by Douglas Fry; who once again has captured every loving moment in such detail that you feel like you too were part of something amazing.
Bride and Groom… Laura & Kris
Wedding date... Saturday 20th April 2013
How we met… We sat next to each other at work and flirted all day until one day he asked me on a date.
The proposal… We have two dogs that we always take on walks in Richmond park; it’s my favourite place in London. As we were walking Kris got down on one knee and I said ‘yes’; we got a round of applause from passerby’s.
We knew it was the ‘one’… When he found out my favourite colour was blue and then ordered me blue roses; and even after 6 years of being together he still tells me he loves me as soon as I open my eyes in the morning.
Length of engagement was… 1 year and 4 months
Our wedding photographer was… Douglas Fry
How did Confetti.co.uk help in your big day? It was my first point of call when doing research about the wedding and I ordered lots of things from them.
My dress was… a Caroline Castigliano gown. I went shopping with my mum and sister, I knew I wanted something with sleeves and this was perfect.
Our groomsmen were… Kris’s cousin Fredrick and his bestfriends Adam, Nick and Ross.
Our bridesmaids were… my sister Jessica, and my bestfriends Kelly, Felicity and Shirein.
Our wedding ceremony was… a traditional ceremony at St Brides church, we had a choir that were sensational, it made our wedding unique and special. It felt very intimate and lovely as we had so many of our family and friends sharing our special day.
Our favourite part of the wedding was… The ceremony. It was so moving and it really meant a lot to us; over the past 6 years we have been through a lot, I have never been happier than in that moment when I said ‘I Do’.

Our first dance song was… The way you look tonight by Frank Sinatra.
Did anything funny or unusual happen at your wedding? My husband got carried away into the night and decided to do a semi strip in the middle of the dance floor which was hysterical.
Our advice to other brides is… Be super organised in the beginning and give yourself plenty of time. Make sure the wedding has yours and your partner’s personality, don’t be afraid to be different if it makes you happy.
Our honeymoon was… The Maldives, its 100% pure heaven. We definitely needed a holiday after all that organising.
