It’s a four-day weekend of celebration! Quite apart from the massive extravaganza that is The Queen’s Jubilee, it’s the perfect excuse to throw a party or plan a Stylishly Great British Wedding. Here’s what’s going on, and some ideas for how you can have your own celebration in style!
A Great British Wedding
If you’re getting married this summer then it’s a Diamond Jubilee Wedding as 2012 will go down in history. Get in on the act by having a diamond wedding ring, theming your big day with ‘red, white and blue cool’ from your dresses and menswear to your flowers, venue décor and table decorations. For a perfectly co-ordinated ice-breaker the Best of British Trivia is ideal. And it’s the little touches that are the icing on the cake so scatter gorgeous diamond-look table crystals for a subtle Jubilee addition that will catch the light and add that extra royal sparkle to your special day in style.

Jubilee Weekend
Saturday 2nd June
Join Her Majesty for a flutter on the horses, at the Epsom Derby, or simply party the whole weekend away…
Street Party
Everyone’s doing it! Get your kitchen table and chairs outside and mingle with your neighbours, or throw a picnic in a local communal park or green space and join in The Big Lunch! Don’t forget your Union Jack decorations and bunting! Street parties are a wonderful way to meet your local community, celebrate together and party like it’s 1945!
Garden party
Invite some friends and family over for a barbeque in the garden or cocktails on the lawn. You could make it a sober affair, just like the Queen’s garden parties, only without the corgis, or for a twist on the traditional garden party rock out to some music by the band Queen, or for an even more riotous occasion relive 1977 with some Punk classics like the Sex Pistol’s, God Save the Queen – if you dare!
Boat Party
The Queen’s having a river pageant and what better reason for ‘messing about on the river’ as the song goes, either on a party boat down the Thames, with a champagne picnic on the river bank, or at a gorgeous riverside restaurant such as The Wharf.
