Spring is here! Not quiet but after this week’s real wedding that’s exactly how you’re going to feel. Nadine and Roberts Spring themed wedding is the perfect inspiration for anyone looking to say ‘I do’ surrounded by tulips and daffodils. Using what Mother Nature has given you is vital when styling a seasonal wedding, and that’s exactly what our couple did; their use of green and yellows from the bridesmaid’s dresses to the centrepieces is brilliant. Enjoy
Bride and Groom… Nadine and Robert
Wedding date… 22nd March 2014
We met… At secondary school and went out for a short but sweet 6 months when we were 13 years old!
The proposal… Robert lured me into the sea whilst on holiday in Dubai, after bobbing about, he proposed with a very special ring my sister gave me on her wedding day, ring shopping commenced then next day!
Our wedding ceremony was… At the Deer Park country house with our closest family and friends, we had 100 guests for the service. Robert’s sister opened our service with a tear jerking reading followed by our two friends who performed a personal and funny poem relating to our mishaps whilst dating.
Our favourite part of the wedding was… Walking up the aisle with Robert as Mr & Mrs to Best day of our life by American Authors.
The bridesmaids… We had 3 bridesmaids, my sister and 2 close friends. We had the dresses made with beautiful sage green silk and vintage lace trim. The girls looked stunning.
My dress… I went dress shopping with my mum and sister and after 4 failed attempts on 4 separate weekends we stumbled across the one we chose. The dress underwent lots of alterations to make it the dress I walked down in. It was a simple all lace vintage fish tail fit with a little beading under the bust. My mum and sister are known for being emotional and they lived up to those expectations.
Our wedding photographer was… Bryan Farrell. I had worked with him a few times in the past on events with work. He captures beautiful motion and natural shots, he was like a guest on the day and made us and our guest feel relaxed. The photos speak volume.
Our wedding reception was at the… Deer Park Country House, within the marquee and conservatory. We found it completely by chance, we struggled to find the perfect venue at first, however as soon as we left our first viewing of Deer Park we were sold. The venue had beautiful rustic gardens filled with daffodils, the main house itself was owned by Europe’s largest sporting memorabilia collector, a huge part of Roberts life.
Our Wedding Cake was… Gorgeous!! My lovely chef at work made us a 5 tier lemon drizzle naked cake with homemade lemon curd. Its was then dripping with daffodils and herbs for decoration. The top tier came on our mini moon with us to Watergate bay, eaten in bed with tea spoons.
Our first dance was… To Lucky by Jason Mraz
