The Spring 2013 bridal runway collections have brought us five truly stunning trends looking at colour, sexy backs, layering detail, lace and beautiful sheer panels.
Moving away from the traditional whites and ivory, thanks to Vera Wang’s amazing colour confidence over the past few seasons, designers are becoming much bolder with their palette choice. We have seen some truly beautiful and inspirational colours ranging from deep sensuous reads to soft girlie pastels – this season there really a colour to suit any bride.

Following the previous season’s penchant for revealing backs, this season seems to offer up slightly more demure designs whilst retaining this glamorous element. The introduction of sheer panels, lace and portrait backs offer up a glimpse of a back, whilst maintain a level of sophisticated decorum, as shown in Amsale’s collection.

Lace remains a stable design element, following Kate’s gorgeous McQueen masterpiece, the imagination of designers seems to be well and truly inspired.

The use of peplums in bridal design gives a nod to haute couture fashion, whilst adorning the bride with a complimentary and elegant silhouette. Peplums can give the appearance of a more defined waist and smoothed hip line, so it’s a fantastic option to flatter your figure whatever your shape.

This season really does offer up a gorgeous selection of trends suitable for any bride. However, if you still can’t decide which style you want to go for, there is always the wild card of the season – the convertible dress! What a better way to get value for money if you could walk down the aisle in a gorgeous floor length gown, and then, before the reception, in true Buck’s Fizz style, whip off the tulle skirt and dance the night away in a sparkly mini… it will surely appeal to some!
