As a child everyone (even guys) dream of having a fairytale wedding and your Pinterest wall will probably agree with me. Well, Warwick Castle is the perfect fairytale venue for your happily ever after, complete with historical characters to make the day extra special.
When your guests arrive at Warwick Castle they will be blown away at how beautiful the historic castle is and just when they start coming back to the 21st Century they’ll be greeted by the castle’s resident knight, who happens to be the master of ceremonies. He will then lead your guests through the castle, to your wedding ceremony. You can even request for a knight on a mighty steed to escort your guests as well!
The master of ceremonies will engage with your guests and keep them entertained throughout the night; he can announce speeches at the breakfast and even give you a sword to slice your cake! On the walk to the service he can inform the guests on the rich (and exciting) history of Warwick Castle, but which of the castle’s four registered rooms will you use for your ceremony and which will you use for your wedding breakfast?
The first room is the Great Hall and it’s exactly what you picture when you think of castles. The walls decorated with weaponry and suits of armour around the edge of the room, really makes this hall feel grand. If you use this room for your ceremony, you can seat up to 180 people and for a wedding breakfast it can hold 130. This room is the most adaptable for your wedding breakfast as it can either have several round tables for your guests, or banquet tables. These two options mean that you can choose between a traditional wedding breakfast, an authentic medieval banquet or somewhere in between!
The next room is the regal State Dining Room; this room, feels less like a castle and more like a palace! The white walls with a gold trim really gives the room that royal finish. This is definitely the best room in the castle if you’re looking for an enchanting wedding. For a ceremony, it seats up to 95 guests creating a much more personal and intimate vibe for you and your guests. When used for a wedding breakfast, this room seats 50 people making your meal feel much more exclusive.
The Green Drawing Room, as the name suggests, has green walls, making it an incredibly unique ceremony location. Paintings of the key players in the English Civil War hang from the gold trimmed walls, and they will be thrilled to watch your wedding! For the ceremony, this room can seat 80 guests and for the wedding breakfast, 40 guests.
The most intimate registered room is the Library, hosting up to 30 of your nearest and dearest to watch you exchange your vows. The intricate hand painted ceiling and the bookcase lined walls make it a truly stunning location for your ceremony.
After the big day is over you and your spouse can head to one of the two suites in the historic Caesar’s Tower. Each suite includes a stunning four poster bed with a flat screen smart TV hidden in the footboard, the perfect bed for any modern lady or lord. The two suites are the Rose Suite and the Peacock Suite; both are exquisite and it is nearly impossible to choose which you’d rather stay in. While you think long and hard about which room you’d prefer, it’s time to think where your guests will stay.
Your guests can enjoy the most luxurious camping experience of their lives with the medieval glamping experience. Each tent has wooden flooring, plug sockets and free Wi-Fi, letting your guests enjoy the 21st Century on the grounds of a 1,100 year old castle. The medieval glamping experience is only available between May and September, so where would your guests stay if you’re having a winter wedding?
All year round your guests can stay in the brand new knight’s village lodges. These themed lodges are fully stocked, with beds for 4 to 7 people, free Wi-Fi, a Television, central heating and a complimentary breakfast.
Everybody wants their big day to be a unique experience; the staff at Warwick Castle understand this and your personal event manager will support you every step of the way to make your wedding that little bit more special.
You can entertain your guests during your wedding breakfast with some costumed characters from history, Jesters, Magicians or even some full armoured knights. For just a little extra, the knights will engage in combat, fighting for the favour of the newlyweds. If you’d like to make a real sword fight even more exciting you can ask for the knights to hide in a suit of armour and will spring to life during the wedding breakfast. This is an amazing experience for both you and your guests!
For live music Warwick Castle has got so many different options for any musical preference; superb string quartets, heavenly harpists, medieval minstrels, outstanding operatic singers and even a dazzling disco! The team are also on hand to support with many other finishing touches from flowers to fireworks and everything in-between.
