If you’re looking for a fluttery, natural eyelash look for your wedding, but feel that eyelash extensions might be a bit too dramatic, we’d like to point you in the direction of eyelash tinting.
Eyelash tinting is ideal if you want naturally darker looking lashes, with no fuss.
We love long, showstopping eyelash extensions as much as the next person, but the admin that comes with them (no eye masks, brushing them, getting infils, not using oil-based cleansers) is just. Too. Much.
Which is why we are absolutely here for eyelash tinting. Read on for all you need to know.
What is Eyelash Tinting?
Eyelash tinting is simply having a dark dye applied to your lashes, making them appear not only darker, but separated and fuller – that’s the magic of a lash tint!
How Long Eyelash Tinting Take?
No more than 15 minutes – the quickest lash treatments we’ve had the pleasure of trying.
How Much Does Eyelash Tinting Cost?
The price varies depending on where you’re having the treatment, but we had ours done in the Instagram friendly Duck & Dry Mayfair salon, where it costs just £20 – a bargain if you ask us!
How Long does Eyelash Tinting Last?
Your lovely new lashes should last up to four weeks. The dye will fade if you’re cleansing your face frequently, but with no need to wear mascara anymore, the lack of make-up remover you’re using will mean your dark lashes last well.
What are the Benefits of Eyelash Tinting?
Firstly, it massively speeds up your morning routine. Imagine waking up and not needing to layer on coats of mascara – dreamy!
With eyelash tinting, you wake up with dark, luscious lashes with none of the effort of wearing mascara or applying false lashes.
Why is Eyelash Tinting Good for Brides?
Eyelash tinting is great for brides who want a natural look on their wedding day. Because your lashes have been dyed darker, all you need is a lick of clear mascara for volume and you’re good to go.
Not having to wear black or brown mascara is a godsend for brides who are expecting to cry in their wedding day – nobody wants blackened tears creeping down their face on the big day.
Tinted lashes are also great if you’re jetting off on your honeymoon straight from your wedding as it means you’ll look picture perfect even when you’re in and out of your private infinity pool.
Eyelash Tinting: Reviewed
Confetti’s Deputy Content Editor Melanie Macleod tried the treatment at Duck & Dry Mayfair. Here’s what she thought.
“From the minute I sat down in the therapist’s chair (in the very chic surroundings, might I add,) I knew I was in good hands. She checked I’d had my patch test (essential to confirm you won’t react to the dye), and asked me which dye colour I’d prefer – black, or the glossier blue/black, which is the one I went for.
She gently removed all my make-up, before applying under eye patches under my eyes to stop the dye from transferring onto my skin. Next she brushed the formula onto both my lower and upper lashes (it took about two minutes, if that) and then treated me to the most amazing head massage while the dye did its thing.
10 minutes later, the dye was wiped off, the eye patches removed, and I was swanning out of the salon with my lovely new lashes, fluttering them at every stranger who passed.
My naturally light lashes immediately look fuller and longer now that they’re tinted, and while I still can’t resist adding mascara to them for a little more volume, I definitely wake up looking more “done” since my lashes have been tinted. I’m happy to go out now without applying any make up, whereas normally you wouldn’t catch me out of my front door without a least one coat of mascara.
The beauty of Duck & Dry is that they not only offer lash tinting, but also a whole host of other brow and lash services, as well as blow dries, so if you and your bridal party wanted to descend on mass to the salon for a pre-wedding pamper session, that would be definitely possible – in fact, they encourage it!”
