As part of their Confetti takeover, we spoke to Mii Cosmetics about the products from their range that are essential to any bride-to-be’s beauty bag.
To keep it simple, Mii’s expert Georgina Walker split the products up into categories so you can easily scroll to the make up you’re looking for, whether you’re after a silky-soft lipstick or a richly-pigmented eye shadow.
Wedding Foundation and Face Make Up
“For many brides the most important part of their beauty look is to have completely flawless skin, especially for the photographs,” says Georgina.
“Liquid and cream foundations tend to work best on drier winter skin, so opt for this selection if you like the dewy, glowy look.”
“On your wedding day I’d suggest opting for a dewy-finish foundation – starting at the centre of your face then blending out – then pin-point conceal any blemishes or discolouration. To keep shine at bay, finish with loose powder across the T-zone.”
Velvet Radiance Face Base, £28, offers buildable, blendable coverage, a satin-matte finish with just the right amount of radiance. Infused with fresh carrot cells and seaweed extract to help protect, tone and firm skin, boosting hydration and radiating a natural glow.
Illusionist Translucent Powder, £24, conjures up long lasting, airbrushed perfection and photo-ready radiance. Unique spherical particles blur lines, banish shine, and keep your foundation flawless for even longer. On application, this powder transforms to a colourless finish, leaving a velvety veil of perfection to suit all skin types and tones.
To finish, sweep Light Loving Illuminator, £18.95, across the high points of your face (brow bone, cheekbones and cupid’s bow) to catch the light and emphasise your features. It’s packed with pearlised particles that transform to a weightless, creamy texture for a radiant finish. Available in Shining Star (soft pearl), Leading Lady (pink nude) and Golden Goddess (champagne gold).
Pro tip: For long-lasting, shine free perfection lock your look in place with Supercharged Setting Mist, £19.50. Infused with coconut water, matcha green tea, peach and grape seed extract, this micro-mist spectacularly fixes your finish.
Wedding Eye Make Up
“A soft smokey eye is one of the most popular choices for a bridal look,” says Georgina. “It’s easy to wear and gives beautiful definition to the eyes.”
Create the perfect bridal smokey eye with the below goodies.
For lids with impact, the Forever Eye Crayons, £17, are gorgeously creamy yet feather-light to wear, delivering highly pigmented colour that glides effortlessly into place. Mascara wise, Waterproof Lash Lover, £14.50, is a long-lasting, volumising formula that glides on and stays put until you say so. The waterproof long-wearing formula is a must for happy wedding day tears – believe us, there will be many!
Pro tip: Wearing an eye primer will enhance the colour of your eye shadows and delivers even longer lasting wear. Enhancing Eye Prep, £16.95, super light eye primer is infused with restorative Sacha Inchi Seed oil and glides onto the eyelid for a flawless finish.
Wedding Lipsticks
“Whatever lip colour or finish you choose, don’t be afraid to suggest one you love to wear to your makeup artist,” advises Georgina.
“It’s important to prep the lips for lipstick application, because you want kissable lips on your wedding day. Use a little exfoliator and lip balm to smooth and hydrate the lips. Conceal gently and powder over the lip line prior to the lip application; this will ensure you have a well prepped blank canvas for the lip products. The powder will also help hold your lip liner in place for a longer lasting finish.”
Click and Colour Lip Crayon, £17 is a sumptuously smooth, highly pigmented lip crayon that provides long lasting full colour coverage.
The innovative formula, infused with avocado and mango oil, glides on like silk, for a light-as-air feel. Available in five shades: Cassis (a crimson red), Cognac (a spiced rose), Pinot Blush (a fleshy pink nude), Merlot (a sumptuous red) and Rose (a dusky pink)
Pro tip: Ensure you have the same blush and lip colour your makeup artist used for touch-ups throughout the day. Put your bridesmaid on beauty duty ensuring they carry your makeup kit with them to help you stay flawless.
