The latest hair fixers tested
We asked a panel of girls, half with full-bodied curly hair and half with sleek and silky straight hair, to try and test the latest de-frizzing and volumising products.
Curls
For wild hair that needs taming, there are several great products around. We tried Yogi Heat Defence Spray and Frizz Eliminator Serum.
Natasha, Trudy and Lois tested these and found the heat defence “made hair shine” and the serum “gives softer and more defined curls” and “is a great finishing product.”
Using a heat defence spray before using heated styling products is advisable as it will protect and care for your hair and reduce damage and drying. A frizz eliminator serum will stop frizz and ensure your curls are soft and silky.
Straight hair
For fine hair that needs a boost there are several mousses and sprays available and sometimes it’s enough to just use a good quality shampoo and conditioner. We tried Burts Bees Very Volumising Pomegranate Shampoo and Burts Bees Very Volumizing Conditioner.
Tested by fine, straight haired Sarah, Lindy and myself, we all found these lovely-scented liquids left hair feeling “thicker, smoother and less flyaway.” Hair was left “with a lot more body and shine.”
All our testers, myself included, enjoyed using these products and saw great results. The Burt’s Bees Shampoo, in particular is highly recommended, as is the fab Yogi Heat Defence Spray. Now wild hair can be tamed and flat hair can have body on your big day. There’s one less thing to worry about!
