Wedding Makeup Trends for Brides from Hannah Martin
Trend One: No Makeup Makeup
This is a popular look for many brides as they tend to want to look like themselves, but the most polished version of themselves, on their wedding day. No makeup makeup involves a natural looking base, with gently flushed cheeks and subtle eyelashes.
Hannah Martin’s wedding makeup tip: “Add balm to the lips to moisturise and plump, brush brows up, and then curl the lashes to open the eyes. To catch the light, spot highlight with oil onto the top of your cheeks, bridge of nose and brow bone.”

Trend Two: A Dewy Base
A dewy base will keep you looking fresh-faced on your wedding day and will enhance your bridal glow. It’s also much more photography-compatible than a matte base, which may not interact with the flash very well.
Hannah Martin’s wedding makeup tip: “Even out the skin tone with a hydrating tinted moisturiser to keep your complexion glowing throughout the day. Once done, add a touch of powder to the T-zone. Use a liquid blush on the cheeks for a longed-for dewy radiance.”
Trend Three: Laminated Brows
In recent years, eyebrows have become a real focus – and with good reason! They frame the face and add definition. We’re moving away from the trend for dramatic eyebrows and instead the new trend is ‘laminated brows’.
Hannah Martin’s wedding makeup tip: “Once the Spoolie wand is dipped into the desired brow gel, brush the brows up towards the forehead and let the gel set for 30 seconds before pressing the brows down onto the skin. Take it a step further by drawing fine brow-like hairs on the brow for a natural look.”

Trend Four: Eye Gloss
You’ve heard of lip gloss, sure, but the newest bridal beauty trend is for eye gloss! Eye gloss is a product that adds a subtly but effective glossy sheen to your eye area, making your eyes look super bright and awake.
Hannah Martin’s wedding makeup tip: “Swipe a slick of gloss across the eye lid using a slim concealer brush. It’s most effective if you place it high above the crease of the eye, so the glossy sheen can be seen when your eyes are open.”
Trend Five: Water Colour Eyes
If eye gloss isn’t your thing, this could be! The classic smokey eye will always be a popular choice, but for those looking for something softer for their wedding day, this could be the one.
Hannah Martin’s wedding makeup tip: “Switch up traditional diffused charcoals and greys (smokey eyes) with pale pinks, lilacs and yellow for a modern twist on an absolute classic.”
