Rumours are rife this week that our future princess has taken her fashion experience (a year at Jigsaw) and decided to experiment on what will be one of the most talked about dresses in the world.
This surely can’t be true. That Kate Middleton has chosen to design her own dress?
It would have to be fashion icon suicide before she’d even started. It’s more likely that this modern bride has had as much input as possible in her dress. Designed it? I find that hard to believe, knowing what goes in to the design of any wedding dress, never mind a royal one.
A keen interest in fashion hardly lives up to fashion designer extraordinaire.
Only last week speculation led us to believe that there would be – not one, not two, but three wedding dresses for Kate. Greedy?
And other whispers suggest that the final dress will be the work of an actual professional designer, Sophie Cranston, whose label Libelula means ‘dragonfly’ in Spanish.
Her name like Sarah Burton is linked to Alexander McQueen and the designer rumoured to be making the bridesmaid dresses, Alice Temperley.
Cranston could be a perfect candidate having won London’s Graduate Fashion Week in 1999 and now among other things having bespoke bridal collection.
Meanwhile Kate’s mother Carole appears to have fallen out with designer Lindka Cierach.
