What could be more special and sentimental than making your own wedding rings? Birmingham based jeweller Elizabeth Anne Norris runs workshops for couples to make their own wedding rings following those of requests from her customers.
The couples get to make their wedding rings themselves, with Elizabeth present to give her expert advice and guide them through the process.
“I loved the ring making workshop. It was a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere and it felt like we were hanging out with friends, it was a very pleasant experience!” Said bride Stella.
First, you discuss your desired ring designs with Elizabeth, before attending a session at Elizabeth’s jewellery workshop in the heart of Birmingham’s renowned Jewellery Quarter. The happy couple get to spend a fun afternoon heating, hammering, soldering and polishing their wedding rings, in a choice of silver or gold.
“Almost anyone can make their own a wedding ring with my guidance – most of my couples are complete beginners,” says Elizabeth. “The wedding ring workshops are designed for those with no previous experience. And to top that, designing and making the exact ring you desire is far more relaxing than trawling the high street searching for your vision.”
“I loved this experience,” explained Natalie, “because not only did I get to learn a new skill, but it was great bonding time with my partner. Elizabeth was so welcoming and we had so much fun!”
The Make Your Own Wedding Ring Workshop takes half a day and costs £300 per couple (excluding materials – this is dependent on the type of ring you want to create). You will spend four hours being guided through the process step by step and make wedding rings that you will cherish for a lifetime using traditional jewellery making techniques, in the world-famous Jewellery Quarter, where precious jewellery has been crafted for centuries.
Once you’ve completed your wedding rings, you’ll get to toast all your efforts with a glass of bubbly as you admire your handiwork.
Elizabeth said “Making the wedding rings yourself is a fun and memorable time for the happy couple to enjoy together. What could be more special than personally crafting the bands you will wear forever?”
