Marshwood Manor is a 22 acre estate crouched in the Vale of Marshwood in West Dorset. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with ancient woodland and small fields, has changed little since the Iron Age. It is mysterious, wild and magical yet hidden away from the world. Marshwood Manor is an ‘exclusive use’ venue with six spacious, pet-friendly cottages in the grounds, sleeping a total of 32 guests. From the moment the wedding party drives through the gates and down the sweeping drive, they will have total privacy. No part of the venue or grounds is open to other guests or tourists to intrude on your celebrations. All wedding parties will have the run of the venue from 3pm on Friday to 12pm on Sunday.
Entering Marshwood Manor, you will come through our wonderful lounge bar decorated with wood from our woodland. comfortable sofas are here for you to lounge on, a piano for those who play and those who don’t(!), a ping-pong table, darts board and stacks of board games are at your disposal. from the bar, French doors open onto the gravelled courtyard.
The brick-built haybarn is a glorious indoor space for ceremonies, dining or dancing with great doors opening onto its own terrace. the dais is perfect for a band, a top table or the ceremony itself. the high vaulted ceiling and refined simplicity of the interior lend themselves beautifully to being dressed for weddings in both summer and winter.
The meadow leading to the woods is a fabulous spot to really take in the panoramic views of the vale. used as a destination for picnics, banquets or festival style celebrations, its space and beauty will transport your guests to a rural idyll.
Our woodland bower might just be the most magical space to be married in the entire southwest. couples cross the stream on a living bridge to say their vows in a Victorian bower in the heart of ancient Dorset woodland with family & friends seated in a natural amphitheatre created from the trees themselves.
Central to Marshwood Manor is the dedication of its staff to give absolute focus to each wedding. We never have fewer than five days between weddings so the venue can be prepared just as a couple wish and to unerringly high standards.
