With your wedding day behind you, your honeymoon is without a doubt all you want but hold your horses, you still have a few things to do! We run down the top 8 things you need to do before you go on your honeymoon.
1. Have your wedding dress cleaned
You’ve spent hours, days, months and even years finding your perfect wedding dress, its your pride and joy and you want to keep it like that. The sooner you have your dress cleaned the less likely the stains will stay. If you’re leaving straight after the reception ask your maid of honour or a family member to collect your dress and take it to the cleaners for you; you really don’t want to wait until you get back.

2. Return all hired suits together
We advise you return all the hired suits together. This is traditionally the job for the best man; ask him to collect the groom’s suit and return it along with the other groomsmen’s suits. The company you hired the suits from will appreciate you returning the suits together and quickly; as many companies will charge if your late.

3. Collect the gifts
Make sure on the day of your wedding you give someone the task of collecting the presents from the venue, whether that’s the bridesmaid or groomsmen. You should either ask them to leave the gifts at your house so you can open them before you leave or keep them safe until you return.

4. Pay your suppliers
If you’ve already paid your suppliers before the wedding then skip to number 5. If you haven’t then you should definitely pay them before you leave. As with any industry, once you receive the product or service you are required to pay. It’s also the perfect opportunity to thank them or to discuss any concerns you may have while they are still fresh in your mind.
5. Collect the decor
If you’re a DIY bride and planning to use your own decorative items and props, you will want to make sure you collect them from the venue the next day; if you can’t, make sure you ask your maid of honour, groomsmen or family member to collect them on your behalf. Most venues don’t have the storage space to keep your items and will dispose of them after a few days, which is why we highly recommend you collect them the day after.
6. Distribute wedding cake
If you have any cake left over, and that’s a big if these days. You will want to make sure you or someone you trust boxes the remaining cake and distributes them to family and close friends. You will need to purchase the cake boxes before hand to make life easier. Shop our range of wedding cake boxes, suitable for any wedding theme.

7. Say thank you
You might think it’s best to wait until you get back from your honeymoon to send your thank you cards but trust us, doing it before you go means there’s less paperwork to do when you get back. Remembering who you’re sending them to will be a lot easier straight after the wedding rather than 2 weeks later. Don’t forget to thank your suppliers!
8. Pack the essentials
We all know the essentials for any holiday packing; passports, airline tickets, currency, adaptors and prescription medication. For your honeymoon you need to include the following to guarantee you’re looking and feeling great when you return as Mr. And Mrs.
