Outrageous, extravagant and shamelessly expensive, there’s nothing modest about these celebby hen nights. If only we could time travel. Hen company Red Seven tell us which celeb hen nights they wish they’d been invited to!
1. Kate Moss
A glass of Pinot and a pack of Twiglets was never really on the cards for Mossy’s last night of freedom. So epic was her hen weekend that it’s best depicted in numbers:
• 2 stretch pink Hummers transported the guests.
• 2 bands were all that Kate and Co watched – the Kings of Leon and the Foo Fighters. The rest of their time they spent on fairground rides, in VIP or at the Priory (not that one silly, the posh hotel they were holed up in).
• 30 guests attended including Jade Jagger, Sadie Frost, Meg Matthews and Daphne Guinness.
• 120 bottles of Mahiki rum had been drunk by Saturday morning. A further 180 bottles were helicoptered in on Saturday afternoon.
• KM1 and KM2 were the registration plates of the golf buggies which ferried them around the Isle of Wight festival.
2. Coleen Rooney
Why have one hen night when you can have three, hmm? Part 1 of our favourite WAG’s festivities kicked off at Manchester’s Lowry Hotel where she treated mum Colette, mother-in-law Jeanette and 22 A-list girls to a £50k lunch, dinner and pampering session, followed by hen bingo, a cocktail evening and a night at the Panacea club where they partied til 3am.
Part 2 consisted of Coleen and five of her closest friends on a jolly to Miami (First Class, natch) where the girls ran up a whopper bill drinking Cristal at £1k a bottle.
Part 3 was a last minute whim to the Canary Isles with a set of dressing gowns embroidered with the (fairly self-explanatory) words ‘Coleen’s Hen Party’. Full credit to you Col!
3. Katy Perry
Katy Perry’s hen night didn’t get off to a vintage start when Russell Brand was arrested for attacking a pap who’d taken a photograph up his fiancée’s skirt. Bail issue aside, Rihanna made sure her BFF’s hen night was one to remember by flying a big group of girly pals to Vegas. They kicked off with a production of Ka by Cirque du Soleil at the MGM Grand then launched into a weekend of non-stop partying. Said Rihanna “I themed everything. Everything had wieners (willies!) in it. The jewellery, the lollipops, the cake, the pinata and there was an inflatable one for the pool. I’m telling you I really went to town.”
And the morning after? Katy tweeted, “signing up for a liver transplant now…”
4. Liz Hurley
Deely-boppers and flashing tiaras for the soon-to-be Mrs Arun Nayar? Er no… Liz Hurley’s hen do ranks as one of the most extravagant of all time. Not only did she appoint Donatella Versace to stage a private fashion show, she also invited her guests to choose outfits from the collection to wear to her wedding. Estimates suggest she budgeted £3,000 a head (a head?!) on an event which included champagne, nibbles, an afternoon of beauty treatments and a private dinner.
5. Christina Aguilera
The stunning Palmilla resort in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico was where the DIRRTY girl flew her posse to celebrate her last weekend of freedom. Donning a garter, tiara and veil she and her crew, which included DJ Sam Ronson, lounged by the pool during the day drinking cocktails and by night they partied hard at a host of different nightclubs. A source suggested that not much sleep was had. At all.
