We’re really excited to share this week’s Real Wedding, it’s definitely one of a kind. On the surface it looks like any other wedding, a beautiful bride, handsome groom, stunning location; but the twist to this romantic tale is the photographer. Award winning and celebrity photographer Joy Marie, known for capturing the most unique weddings across the world, photographed the entire day using a Nokia Lumia smartphone! Bride and Groom… Crista and Chris
We met… Through a mutual friend in Corona Del Mar, CA
We knew it was ‘the one’… Chris “When she asked me to marry her, I’m just kidding” I knew soon after we met. We both had all the same goals and vision of how we wanted life to be”
Length of engagement… 1 year
My wedding dress… Was by Reem Acra. I chose the dress after I bought my wedding shoes. The shoes were absolutely beautiful and I knew that I needed to show them off so that’s how I created my wedding dress. I purchased a beautiful gown by Reem Acra and ended up altering the dress by cutting off the front of the gown making it a hi-lo gown. It turned out just perfect after days of alterations
Our wedding ceremony and reception was… At Capella Pedregal in Cabo, Mexico. We had 35 guests. The best part was seeing our son walk the aisle and of course when I first saw Crista, she looked so beautiful.
Our wedding photographer was… Joy Marie from Joy Marie studios. She was amazing, she used the Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone to capture the whole day.
For the ceremony… I recommend that you write your own vows. This was an incredibly special and intimate moment that we shared with each other, one I will remember for life. Truly was one of the everlasting memories that I took away from our wedding day.
Our wedding theme was… Blush and champagne.
Our first dance was… She’s got a way by Billy Joel
Our favourite part of the wedding was... All of it! I think I really enjoyed the sparkler introduction. I truly felt like a Princess that just married her Prince…magical
Did anything funny or unusual happen at your wedding? Yes. After too many tequilas some of our silly guests were doing the splits and cartwheels on the dance floor.
What is your advice for other brides? Not to stress over the small things. Things will go wrong but no one will notice! When it comes to the budget spend it on the photographer because when all is said and done and the wedding is over, all you have left are the memories and the amazing photos.
We’ll be going to… Maui, Hawaii in 2014 for our honeymoon
