This week’s real wedding comes courtesy of Lawless Rose Photography, a talented photographer from Kent whose unique style captures Lynn and Mark’s stunning grey and yellow wedding beautifully.
The Proposal
We met at a mutual friend’s house party in Brixton, I knew pretty much straight away he was the one, we’ve been inseparable ever since meeting! After being engaged for almost 2 years Mark proposed to me on my 28th birthday.
The Dress
I don’t know how I chose it, it was the complete opposite of what I was looking for. It was a process of trial and error, I did try many, many dresses before choosing the one that suited my figure and style the most. Originally, I wanted the big fairytale dress but I ended up with what the lady in the shop referred to as ‘The Hollywood Glamour’ dress. I kept my accessorises simple, just a small pearl necklace, a bracelet and some blingy drop earrings with a pearl on the end.
The Ceremony
Our wedding ceremony was at the Norfolk Mead Hotel in Coltishall, Norfolk. It was a registrar-led ceremony in a glass fronted room, full of our nearest and dearest, overlooking the gardens.
The Photographer
Our wedding photographer was Sarah Relf from Lawless Rose Photography. She’s a very dear friend and we jumped at the chance for her to photograph our wedding. I’d seen her work before and we knew she was very talented. Although she knew some of our guests she was very professional throughout, other people who hadn’t met her before kept saying how friendly she was and how she made everyone feel at ease.
The Reception
We had our wedding reception at the Norfolk Mead Hotel. My parents stayed there when they came to visit us once and we fell in love with it after meeting them there for dinner. We chose light grey and lemon yellow for our colour scheme. For our flowers we had a mixture of roses, craspedias and other flowers. For the table centrepieces the vases were filled with lemons to match in with the colour scheme which looked stunning. Pinterest played a big part in this! Our cake was a three tier, square cake. Two fruit cake tiers and one sponge cake. Covered in light grey icing with white ribbon, white icing daises and hand-made penguin cake-toppers!
Our Favourite Part of the Wedding
Was all of it. The whole day was a blur but I loved every second, I think saying our vows was a particularly special moment though. All the little touches and the handmade things in particular were really special. One of my bridesmaid made the personalised bunting, another made our beautiful table-plan, Mark’s mum made the cake, I made the cake-toppers, everything just reflected our personalities.
Bridal Advice
Stick to your guns, if people turn their nose up at various ideas, don’t entertain them. if you think it’ll work go for it , it’s your day.
