How do you make your own centrepieces?

The idea might sound daunting but actually it’s very simple to make your own DIY centrepiece. Take a look at some of our simple suggestions- from florals to fairy lights you don’t need to be an expert to create a dazzling display.

Where do I find all the materials I need to make my own DIY centrepieces?

You will be surprised at the range of choice available when you start to shop around. Take a look at Confetti’s very own store, search online auction sites and look in your own cupboards – you may already have what you’re looking for.

What am I going to do with 10 decorative bowls after my wedding?

You might find you can hire or borrow everything you need for your DIY centrepieces. However you may also discover that a lot of glass vases and bowls etc are reasonably priced and it’s actually cheaper to buy them. After the wedding why not give them away as gifts, or sell them on to someone else and make your money back.

Is it cheaper to get my florist or venue to help?

Look into both options, it is most likely you’ll find that it’s less expensive to create your own DIY centrepieces. If you’re not feeling confident try asking a creative friend to help out or do a trial before you commit.

How can I make cheap centrepieces?

Take a look at our guide, here you will find a range of ideas to suit all budgets.

How do you make a flower arrangement for a table?

First decide if you want real or artificial flowers. For fresh flowers find out what will be in season for your wedding as these will most likely be available in abundance, for a fairer price. If you’re not confident in making one large display, try creating small hand tied bouquets and place them in small vases or go for potted plants for a more simple look.

Who will set them up on my wedding day?

Once you’re happy with your choice of DIY centrepieces, draw a sketch or better still set up a mock table with everything in its place. Take a photo and give this to your helper or wedding planner well in advance so they can familiarise themselves with your design, and most importantly what they need to do!
