If you’re looking for a low-key, intimate spa hen party location, a relaxing day at Eden Hall Spa should be firmly on your list of potential destinations.
Located in Newark, Nottinghamshire, the day spa is easily accessed just off the A1, only 30 minutes from Nottingham or a short hour and a half journey on the train from central London.
As you pull into the car park you’re met with a truly stunning country mansion surrounded by vast, well-maintained gardens and a warm, friendly welcome. Once you’ve checked in and handed in your health form, the team take the time to explain how your day will work and inform you of your lunch booking and treatment time.
The changing rooms are huge, with plenty of locker space and private changing rooms. There is even a dressing area with hairdryers for use at the end of your day and complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body lotions.
The spa is superbly equipped, with three walk-through shower experiences – tropical, hot and cold; a herbal caldarium; a rose-infused steam room; massage jets; saunarium; large indoor pool which leads to an outdoor pool and a vast number of indoor loungers to relax on. An outdoor area leads you to two hot tubs and more sun loungers.
If you’re feeling energetic, there’s a variety of exercise classes to choose from. We opted for the Fitness Pilates class which was a good work out and great for all levels of experience. Located opposite the gym was the slumber lounge with comfy beds, stylish hanging dome chairs, soft lighting and an ideal setting for an afternoon snooze!!
If you book a spa day package, a three-course lunch and unlimited access to the buffet is included. The buffet was delicious with a huge selection of salads, fresh fish & meats and freshly baked breads. We opted for the Serene Spa day package, which also included a 55-minute facial and back massage. It was soothing and calm, with a deep firm massage which released a lot of long-standing knots in my back! I came away feeling very relaxed and can honestly say it was one of the best treatments I’ve ever had at a spa.
What sets Eden Hall apart from its competitors is the feeling of luxury and attention throughout, from the complimentary newspapers and fresh fruit in the conservatory area, to top-end brands Clarins and Elemis used for the treatments. It’s also a place to indulge, with a to-die-for breakfast menu, a tempting selection of patisseries and ice creams, a healthy selection of freshly squeezed juices and smoothies and a delicious afternoon tea.
