Camerton Hall is a stunning Grade II listed Georgian country house situated in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside close to some of the most incredible scenery in the UK. The unspoiled North West Lake District boasts picturesque mountains, stunning lakes and delightful towns and villages.
Recently refurbished, Camerton Hall opens three of its grand reception rooms providing the perfect backdrop to enjoy Afternoon Tea. An elegantly scaled Banqueting Hall, the old Billiard Room and one of the front drawing rooms which has been transformed into a Bar Lounge.
The Banqueting Hall has a beautiful ornate ceiling with a large chandelier, a Georgian fireplace, and full height sash windows. The Billiard Room was a Victorian extension to the house and has an oak framed glass ceiling, an impressive Victorian wood panelled fireplace and glazed doors with stone mullions and decorative art nouveau design leaded windows. The Bar Lounge has comfortable seating with a fully licensed bar and an imposing art nouveau oak fireplace.
Located near Cockermouth and Keswick, Camerton Hall was built on the site of a Stone House dating back to the 15th century and a Pele Tower of an earlier period. This grand residence has links to Thomas Curwen, ancestor of the prominent Curwen family of Workington, who was also known as Black Tom of the North; his tomb lies close by in St. Peter’s Church.
