Cartwright Hall is set in the magnificent, Green Flag-awarded grounds of Lister Park, with a boating lake, adventure playground and Mughal Gardens.
Bradford art gallery shortlisted for top museums award!
Cartwright Hall Art Gallery’s David Hockney Gallery has been shortlisted for a prestigious Museums + Heritage Award.
The Bradford Council art gallery is in the running for a Permanent Exhibition Award which recognises excellence in the creation of a new museum, redevelopment of an existing one or a new permanent exhibition.
The innovative David Hockney Gallery transformed Cartwright Hall’s largest space at into a vibrant, inspirational permanent display dedicated to the life and work of the Bradford-born artist.
The Museums + Heritage Award which is to be held in London in May highlights excellence, innovative and ground-breaking initiatives from galleries and visitor attractions across the UK and overseas.
The awards will be judged by a panel of the museum sector’s leading lights including, Diane Lees, Director General, Imperial War Museum; Bernard Donoghue, Director, Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA) and other leading sector professionals.
