Welcome to the Ellenbank Country House Hotel.  In the Cumbrian countryside approximately 1 mile from Maryport, Ellenbank is a splendid Victorian building set in extensive grounds.
 
Maryport is a delightful harbour side town situated on the beautiful Solway Firth.  Its history covering 2000 years boasts a Roman Fort, Georgian Buildings and Victorian Docks.  In fact, the Ellenbank Hotel was at one time the home of the Ritson Family, renowned for their schooners which sailed the world.
 
We are in an ideal location to explore and enjoy the Western Lakes which is a land of vivid and exciting contrasts, lying between mountains and the sea.
 
The coastal region of West Cumbria has a fascinating history which can be discovered in local museums.
 
Apart from nearby fell walking in the Lake District there are several intriguing old Victorian seaside resorts - Seascale, St Bees, Allonby and Silloth, all of which have fine beaches and cater well for tourists and holidaymakers.
