Currently The Maltings is licensed as a venue for Civil Weddings as well as Civil Partnerships, Naming and Renewal of Vows ceremonies.

Please Note: From the 6th October 2018 The Maltings will no longer be licensed to conduct any Civil Ceremonies. We welcome bookings and enquiries for ceremonies up to this date and remain an wonderful venue for such events.



All ceremonies are the responsibility of a dedicated co-ordinator who is available to discuss individual requirements in detail, to assist with planning and to ensure the smooth running of all events.

The main Barley Room, with a seating capacity for up to sixty guests, affords a truly unique, intimate and memorable atmosphere for any occasion whilst the adjacent Resource Room is available for post-ceremony drinks or catering.

The location of the Maltings - close to Great Dunmow town centre with ample public car parking and within easy reach of the A120, M11 and Stansted Airport - makes it a truly special venue for any special occasion.

Outside, the delightful private walled garden provides an ideal backdrop for photography or can be used for a marquee installation.
