Michael is delighted to welcome you to his home, the Grade I listed Higher Melcombe Manor. Now a retired airline pilot, Michael spends his time managing Higher Melcombe Farm and running B&Bs.Melcombe nestles in its own beautiful valley in the heart of Dorset, with far reaching views over fields and woodland, in the middle of its own estate.   The approach is by a private road along an avenue of lime trees, then under the magnificent copper beech to the garden.There are three sumptuous double rooms and one single, each with its own ambience - from linenfold panelling and fine plaster ceilings, carefully restored by a local master craftsman, to the new rooms on the second floor with the brand new ensuite bathrooms.Higher Melcombe Manor is a peaceful place, whether you want to explore historic mid-Dorset, tramp the byways of the Wessex Ridgeway to the Dorset Gap - or just relax by the side of the fire with a good book. The two acre garden wraps around the house, to south, east and west.
