About JPO Photography
Yorkshire and beyond wedding photographer covering your full day in a documented styled, relaxed and easy going. I also love to take you off for some special sunset/ blue hour low images.
Your wedding day is the start of a new chapter and your photos will give you memories for the rest of your life, so the photography/ photographer is one of the most important investments while planning your big day.
As a photographer, I try to tell a beautiful story, one that you will want to look at over and over again. People are what make weddings so special and, as much as I love all the little wedding details, my favourite part of weddings is capturing moments and emotions in a creative way.The speeches are a great example of this; I love to listen to them, the thought that has gone into them, the humour, the love.
We'll meet before your big day for a chat about your requirements, the shots you want, and the shots you don't. We'll get out for a pre-wedding shoot, normally at the venue, so you get a feel for what it will be like in-front of the camera on the day. We'll also have a good recce and work out the shots that would be good for the day. It's a great chance to build our relationship, so I am no stranger on the day.
We'll be spending a lot of time together on your wedding day, so it is important to me that you feel comfortable with me. Nobody wants a fantastic yet miserable or rude photographer that you don't feel at ease with! I like to think I'm fun, conscientious and caring. Being a father of triplets I know all about stress and stressful situations! ...but your day will not be one of them!
To keep it simple, I cover your whole day from getting ready until just after the first dance. We don't see the point in setting limits - this is about you, your day and we can't wait to spend it with you.
Hopefully by now you'll have seen that my work covers a multitude of weather and lighting situations, it's not an easy job for sure! Battling rain, harsh sunlight, low light (which is one of my passions and hopefully you'll have seen this)...
I use the best equipment (imo), fast lenses and a multitude of flashes and constant lighting equipment to ensure I have the most suitable gear for the moment at hand. I carry a second camera, ready with a different lens, to save time changing lenses, so I won't be missing that all important shot! The second camera also acts as a backup in case the worse should happen to my main camera. I have many SD/ compact flash cards - you name it, I'll probably have it. On a separate note, I am fully insured and carry all the relevant liability insurances needed by many venues; these can be produced on request from your venue.

Meet the Key Person
I'm Andy, a wedding photographer based in Huby, near York. My passion and inspiration for photography started in childhood. Growing up, surrounded by the natural beauty of Yorkshire, many days out to places like the North Yorkshire moors, Robin Hoods Bay and the medieval City of York, instilled a passion in me to create memories I could return to again and again, through images that captured the warmth and happy feelings I felt in the places I visited. Whilst I take many pictures using natural light, I have also developed and honed various techniques of my own using artificial light alongside natural light to create some truly stunning pictures effects. This skill is something I love to utilize at weddings, to help capture a truly amazing set of memories from the day. I strive to be creative, but not over-powering, on your special day, creating a mix of classic moments - predominately 'documentary' style, with lightly directed but relaxed portraiture, and then some creative 'WOW' low light shots later into the evening. When I'm not photographing wedding, you can find me teaching night photography classes around York and Whitby. Please see my courses page for details. ?
