Knighton House is a stunning Georgian property in North Dorset, nestled between  woodlands and rolling hills, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This hidden gem is perched above the banks of the winding River Stour and the pretty Dorset villages of Bryanston and Durweston.

Formerly part of the Dorset Portman Estate, this majestic house has been home to a prestigious girls’ preparatory school for many years and for the first time in its long, rich history, Knighton House and grounds are available for wedding and event hire.

The striking façade, rolling lawns, abundant orchard and breath-taking panoramic views of the Dorset countryside make Knighton House a beautiful and unique venue to host your event. Our secluded location and exclusive use offers you and your guests complete privacy for your celebration. 

Every season can be embraced with a Knighton House wedding. Guests can enjoy the ample 20 acre site within which Knighton House is set with welcome drinks on the terrace, croquet on the lawn, dinner and dancing in a marquee on the lawn and a meander through the candlelit gardens to where their sumptuous bell tents await them for a night of luxurious glamping http://www.knightonhouseweddings.co.uk/glamping. Within the house the elegant Portman Suite and spacious reception lobby with its sweeping staircase and roaring fires are available for your drinks reception, wedding breakfast, evening reception or civil ceremony.

At Knighton House we understand that every wedding and event is completely unique. We offer complete flexibility for you to use the house and grounds in whatever way works best for your personal requirements, with a selection of indoor and outdoor spaces for you to use as you wish. We don’t have package options or a list of rules on how your day should be run. The venue is exclusively yours to use as you wish for your special day and our flexible approach to hosting weddings means your celebration will be completely unique to you as a couple, reflecting your personal taste, budget and style.
