You can tell a lot about someone by their wedding. But as the photographer, I like to get to know my clients before the actual day, to get a feel for them and what truly makes their relationship unique. Armed with that knowledge I’m able to get exactly the shots they want, and portray the occasion in a way which they can really connect with.

With all my jobs, I take into careful consideration where to shoot both inside and outside the venue. How the light from the sun works, where shadows fall, how the weather will affect it. All these things impact the choice of best areas to shoot and when to shoot. Just because there’s a great staircase, magnificent archway or incredible topiary, doesn’t mean it will work well on the day!

I’ve worked with all sorts of people, from nervous and shy couples to super-confident and even famous couples. Every couple is different. I would say that one of my strengths is my ability to make people look and feel at ease in front of the camera. I take good care not to impose or get in the way. Guests and family usually warm to me very quickly, making them feel comfortable with me being there. This is important – after all, photographing someone’s wedding is such an intimate thing.

Ultimately, I put my heart and soul into what I do, and I could go on all day about it, but when your work speaks for itself, as they say, shut up!
