The four Cadw sites licenced for civil ceremonies are unique and spectacular venues for weddings. They include:

Civil wedding or civil partnership ceremonies can take place at the named areas within the venues, with the ceremony conducted by a local authority registrar. Click on the links for more information on each venue.
Provisional bookings can be held for up to a month at each site to allow you time to consider all options!

Religious wedding ceremonies cannot be held at any Cadw properties because they are scheduled ancient monuments which cannot be consecrated. However, Caerphilly Castle, Castell Coch, Tretower Court and Castle, and Plas Mawr Elizabethan Town House are licenced for civil ceremonies, sites may be hired for a wedding blessing or for photographs.
The construction and use of a marquee that is not water weighted is often not allowed at any site, except in exceptional circumstances. Please have a look at the information on ground pegs on the site specific pages to see if the construction of marquees is potentially feasible at the site.
