The Register Office is located within the Town Hall building. All appointments and enquiries are dealt with at our entrance within the Contact Centre. The entrance for ceremonies is not via the contact centre, there is a separate entrance when you attend a ceremony at the centre of the front of the building. When a ceremony takes place a member of staff will be on hand to meet and direct guests.
Ceremony Rooms Couples can choose one of our two designated ceremony rooms: The Council Chamber (a maximum of 70 guests); or The Council Chamber Foyer (a maximum of 20 guests) For Health Safety reasons and also as a condition of being a licensed approved venue for marriages we cannot exceed these numbers. Waiting area for Guests Guests are welcome to wait in the main lobby area of the town hall which leads up to the Council Chamber. All guests will be invited into the marriage room approximately 10 minutes before the start of the ceremony.
