The Fox and Goose is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious licensed wedding venues in Derbyshire and the Peak District.

Our venue was presented to the Monks of Beauchief Abbey in a license granted by Richard II in 1392. We have original features which are still visible throughout the venue adding to its charm and character, making it the most historical location in the area and the most idyllic venue for your perfect wedding day..

We guarantee exclusivity which means that you will be the only newlyweds at the venue on your special day. Whether you’re looking for a small intimate wedding or a more expansive guest list, we have the package for you, whether it be our ready-made packages or our Forever yours package where we together create a bespoke day for you. We have  our experienced front of house wedding team  to offer a personal service. This is why we are frequently referred to as ‘The Best Wedding Venue in Derbyshire.’

Licensed for Civil Ceremonies in Two Rooms

We are a registered civil wedding venue. Ceremonies can be held in our Abbey Suite or Orangery. Speak to your wedding co-ordinator to discuss the best option for you as a couple for your day.

When you choose the Fox and Goose Inn for your special day we will ensure the focus is on you and your guests from the moment you arrive. Our dedicated wedding co-ordinator and attentive staff will make sure the wedding you have always dreamt of becomes a reality.

Our beautiful backdrop will be available for those picture perfect moments with breath-taking views to capture a lifetime of special memories of your wedding day.
Our Abbey Suite can cater for 100 seated guests for a Civil Ceremony and Wedding Breakfast and up to 200 for the Evening Reception.
Our Orangery can cater for up to 40 seated guests for a Civil Ceremony and up to 40 for a Wedding Breakfast.
Not only do we have the Abbey Suite and Orangery we have the perfect setting on our Pudding Pie hill for a spectacular Tipi or Marquee wedding and can cater for up to 250 guests. Please contact us for details.

Local Accommodation

We are fortunate to have arrangements with local hotels and guest houses in the area within half a mile of the venue and run a complimentary shuttle service for your guests to these venues.

Our nearest venue, is just a short 2 minute drive away, this is the reasonably priced Highwayman Premier Inn. If you would like something more luxurious for your Wedding Night we recommend The Cavendish Hotel in nearby Baslow which is owned by the Duke of Devonshire’s Estate and borders the grounds of Chatsworth House.
