The motivation for creating our pub and restaurant was simple; we felt there was nowhere in the area offering what we wanted in a place to eat and drink.
Somewhere with a relaxed atmosphere where you could feel equally comfortable in a pair of jeans or a suit and tie. Somewhere that served a good pint as well as unusual wines by the glass; where you could sit at the bar and enjoy a drink with your friends.

We are very proud to have been listed in the Michelin Guide for 5 years now,  one of only two restaurants in the Carlisle area.

The AA has awarded our intimate restaurant  1  rosette for quality food and service and our 8 en-suite rooms 4 stars!
