The Mirfield Monastery

Mirfield, West Yorkshire

About The Mirfield Monastery

The Mirfield Monastery, an exclusive wedding venue in West Yorkshire, is a beautiful former Mill Owner's House originally built in the 19th Century set in twenty acres of quiet gardens and woodlands.

The Mirfield Monastery hold one wedding and/or reception per weekend in the summer giving each couple exclusive use of the Monastery from Thursday afternoon until Monday morning. The only people present on the day apart from the dedicated staff are your friends and family making for a very intimate venue. The Monastery Chapel for the wedding and the Great Hall for the wedding breakfast will sit comfortably 102 guests, and there are additional rooms in the evening to increase this number to 200 people.

At the Mirfield Monastery weddings and receptions are based around the couple. They aim to provide whatever you want and not what they think you need. As such every wedding and reception is unique. There are no packages available; instead they tailor everything to you. This involves you sitting down with their professional team, as many times as you need, and getting to know each other properly. This is your special day and so they aim to meet your every requirement. They can offer a comprehensive range of foods ranging from traditional English fare to Mediterranean, North African, Greek and Arabic. They have no set menus preferring instead to work together with you to provide the food you really want. Whether you want a traditional silver service 3-course wedding breakfast, a more informal buffet or a medieval banquet the choices are endless and they are always happy to oblige. Let your imagination run wild and they will make it come true for you. With plenty of space for marquees and tepees and versatile space for bands, discos or string quartets they are sure to be able to meet your every wish.

Church weddings are available on site in the Monastery Chapel. This means you and your guests can spend your special day in one place, with no getting lost between the church and reception, enjoying the 26 acres of fully walled gardens and woodland ideal for wedding photographs. There is secure car parking on the site and guests are more than welcome to park their cars up and collect them the following day when the gates are open again. The services are conducted by the vicar from Christ the King church next door. They recommend you talk to the Vicar well in advance to discuss the options open to you; contact details are available from the monastery.

Overnight accommodation is also on site in bed and breakfast facility at the monastery. There are 4 double and 4 single rooms which can be booked on line; it is the perfect place for friends and family at the end of the day.

Where to find them: Come off the M62 at junction 25 and follow the signs towards Mirfield. Take the A62 towards Leeds and then the first right into Stocks Bank Road. They're about a half mile along on the right hand side.

Mid-week weddings and receptions are available at the Mirfield Monastery.  The price is £1,200 (T&Cs apply)
