AHOEC Gold Standard
We are incredibly proud to have been awarded the prestigious Association of Heads of Outdoor Centres (AHOEC) Gold Standard Badge.

The Wilderness Centre is the only centre within a 50 mile radius to have achieved this award and one of 50 centres in the whole country (of about 500 centres) to have been awarded it.

Due to the high standard of accreditation, the centre also received its Adventure Mark and Learning Outside the Classroom quality badges.

 

 

The AHOEC Gold standard inspection measures all aspects of the centre:

- administration and communication
- facilities
- food
- quality of the learning
- adventure and its educational validity

The Wilderness Centre was assessed as ‘excellent’, while achieving ‘outstanding’ in many areas.
