Outdoor wedding ceremonies in woodland areas are undeniably gorgeous, but they tend to have a reputation for being rustic, shabby chic affairs.
There’s no reason for this to be the case, though. Woodland weddings can be every bit as glamorous and stylish as indoor weddings, as this shoot by La Fête proves.
Shot in Château Challain in France, the feel for the shoot was bohemian and romantic, yet luxurious. The décor was kept to a minimum, with simply dream catchers and a circular floral display as the centrepiece, accompanied by wrought iron candelabras and a moss covered piano.
The suspended decor shows how you can work with the trees to create a magical feel, without going overboard with flowers; dream catchers floating in the wind and flowers draping from hoops create a modern feel without being industrial.

The elegant wedding stationery was created by De Winton Paper Co.
“The stationery combined nature in both the delicate floral border and the majesty of the venue, with a bespoke watercolour illustration of Château Challain,” says Charlotte.

The bridal bouquets in pink and purple added a splash of colour to proceedings, creating a feminine edge to the outdoor location.
The pink bouquets were reflected in the coloured floral hoops in the ceremony, along with a pampas grass and dream catchers to add a magic, other-worldly feel to the ceremony.
To make homage to the outdoor setting, ivy, moss and succulents were used to bring the arrangements back down to earth.
Château Challain created this unique three-tiered cake, complete with tree bark effect, sugar flowers and edible moss.
“We chose to present the cake on the piano as an alternative to a traditional cake table, which reinforced the magical nature of the forest ceremony,” says Charlotte.
The brides both wore lace wedding dresses, which though similar in material differed in style – one long sleeved, one fishtail for contrasting looks.
