Claudia and Felipe were able to transform their venue to create a chic and elegant affair with the warmth of a family home, exactly what they wanted; the perfect wedding for our couples looking to create an intimate and homely atmosphere for their big day.
The Wedding Dress
It took me long time to find my dress. I didn’t like any of the dresses I saw, they didn’t represented the way I wanted to look on the day. I was about to give up and go to a seamstress to make one for me, something that would not have been practical for me, until I was in Rosa Clará and found the my dress When I tried it on I knew it was the one. I didn’t want to see any more. It was perfect and I was the most beautiful woman in the world. The bodice was embroidered lace and included a jewelled belt with pearls and crystals, it was very delicate. The skirt was full and made from tulle, giving the impression that I was floating as I moved.
The Wedding
We wanted an intimate wedding, with closes friends and family. We wanted something ‘homely’, so the choice of location was so important and Casa Panamericana had it all. We chose to have the ceremony and reception at the same location with 50 guests. Our wedding ceremony was held at the Casa Panamericana cottage garden, at sunset on a beautiful summer day. Marcia, who performed the ceremony knew our history by talking to us before and was able to write a personal ceremony for us. It was very special and exciting.
The Photographer
Juliana Mozart was our photographer. I saw her work and fell in love. Photography was very important to me, you have to choose very carefully. I wanted someone who could capture the importance of the moments and not just end up with standard photos you see in any wedding album. Juliana has a unique and special style, besides being a wonderful person. She stayed with me during all preparation on the big day and managed to keep me calm and relaxed. When I received the photos I saw that she managed to capture exactly what the wedding day was about, with every emotion and love.
The Theme
We didn’t have a them so to speak, but one could say that we were inspired by the idea of having a wedding at home, with a chic and elegant look. We wanted to recreate a place that resembled a house and not a traditional buffet. The decor was designed to enhance the natural beauty of the venue.
Our Favourite Moments
Hard to choose the moments, it was all very special. I believe that would highlight two moments: the ceremony and the dance floor. Starting at the ceremony, this was a point that worried me. Because we believe in God, but we have no religion, we never thought of having a priest or pastor. We found Marcia, Rite of Ceremonies. She talked to us, sent us a questionnaire so that we describe our background and what we most admire in each other. After that she wrote the most beautiful and moving ceremony I’ve ever heard in my entire life. At the end of the ceremony we were told by our friends and family that they had never heard a more special and exciting ceremony. The second moment I’d chose was the dance floor, full of friends and family. We wanted a small, intimate party, but very lively. And it was contagious to see the joy of everyone around us.
Our Advice
Firstly, hire a good wedding planner. I have heard many brides say that is an unnecessary expense, they have organised everything themselves and do not need a professional for the day. But they are wrong. Having a trusted person is key. Secondly, be involved in every detail and enjoy it, because the day goes too fast and you will find the things you will enjoy most were during the preparation! And finally, the third and most important piece of advice I can give you is to invest in a good photographer! The day goes by too fast and the photos are will be there to remember everything, see what you missed and you can enjoy the special moments again and forever.
